The behavioral biology
Overview
From aggression to cooperation ...
Behavioral biology (or ethology) is based on the study of human and animal behavior. The interest in the behavior of humans and animals is as old as the society itself. First evidence goes back to antiquity to Plato and Aristotle.
In modern times, the study of behavior by the bavarianism got a real boost. Experiments by Ivan Pavlov (Pavlovian dogs), John B. Watson (Little Albert experiment) and B.F. Skinner (Operant Conditioning) laid the groundwork for a completely new view of behavior. For the first time the question came to the fore: which behavior is innate, which only learned?
